Two 25-year-old men were brutally killed on Wednesday in Nguba, in the commune of Ibanda (South Kivu, Democratic Republic of Congo), by military police officers led by commander Tshisekedi Kilo Kilo. Those responsible for the attack were tried yesterday in a military court and are awaiting sentencing. One of the two men was Ndeko Zagabe, son of the merchant Nyamulinduka, and the other's name was Mbuyi Thibwabwa. According to various sources, their assassinations were voluntarily prolonged by the soldiers, who tortured them for over six hours with picks, hammers and sticks. (BO)
