Last night fifty some gunmen attacked the Major Seminary of Murhesa,
situated around 25km north of Bukavu (administrative centre of South
Kivu, Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo), killing a 28-year-old
seminarian Claude Amzati Kasuya, originally from Kindu. As explained
by our MISNa sources (who will remain anonymous), the gunmen stormed
the institute at 0:30 (local time) and killed Amzati Kasuya in
exactly the same way as Father Georges Kakuja was killed six months
earlier, always in Kivu. "The bullet was shot from above towards the
ground, entering on one side of the neck travelling through the
thorax and exiting in the kidney area", underlined our sources. The
Seminary was also looted. In the same hours, a village near Murhesa
was raided by another two armed groups, acting in co-ordination with
the attackers of the Seminary. A night guard of a deposit was
killed, with two stab wounds to the neck, for attempting to resist.
His body was found this morning near a ditch. (BO)
