13 Mr. Juge SHAMAVU of ACAT/South-Kivu
Furthermore, the office of the Groupe Jeremie has been once again broke into by soldiers of the Rwandese patriotic Army and agents of the Rebel Movement's security services, taking with them all the computers, files, working papers and several other things.
On the top of the mass arrest of human rights activists, a large number of other local people and refugees have been also arrested and taken to unknown destinations.
This mass arrests take place at the very same day that the population of Bukavu/ South-Kivu (DRCongo) are moaning their Archbishop, Mr. Kataliko, buried today.
We believes all people arrested are at risk of tortures, inhuman treatments and extra-judicial execution.
Accordingly, COJESKI / DRCongo, HERITIERS DE LA JUSTICE and CADDHOM, calls for the release of all those arrested, an end to the trend of mass arrest, particularly during this time, when the local population is still very much affected by the death of the Archbishop Emmanuel Kataliko.
We finally appeals to anybody capable of helping for the release of the people arrested to do whatever possible for the sake of the victims, as well as their families.
